Release of 11 Israeli Hostages after Israel-Hamas Conflict

Hamas has released 11 Israeli hostages according to the Israeli government, which includes women and children taken from Kibbutz Nir Oz. This comes on the fourth day of the cease-fire, following previous releases on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some of these released hostages are dual nationals.

One of the released hostages is Sharon Alony Cunio, along with her husband, David Cunio, and their 3-year-old twins, Emma and Yuli. Another family, Karina Engelbert, 51; Mika Engel, 18; and Yuval Engel, 11, has also been released. There is concern for those left behind, including David Cunio and Ronen Engel.

One specific boy, Eitan Yahalomi, was separated from his mother and sisters and driven into Gaza. His mother and sisters managed to escape and hide in a field, however, it was later learned that Eitan’s father had been kidnapped as well.

In another case, Ofer Kalderon, 53, his 16-year-old daughter, Sahar, and his 12-year-old son, Erez, were taken from their family home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Gaya Kalderon last heard from her sister, Sahar, on the morning of Oct. 7, when she sent a text message saying they were in hiding and had left their house. Their mother Hadas Kalderon also visited the reduced to rubble home.

Or Yaakov and his brother Yagil, as well as their father Yair and his girlfriend Meirav Tal, were also taken hostage from Kibbutz Nir Oz.

The families have undergone immense suffering, and some hostages may have medical conditions that require urgent attention. Families continue to plead for the release of their loved ones.
