Autopsy Reveals Gene Hackman Passed Away Due to Heart Disease

Gene Hackman’s Cause of Death Revealed in Autopsy Report

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — An autopsy report has confirmed that iconic actor Gene Hackman, who passed away at the age of 95, died primarily from heart disease. The report highlighted his poor cardiovascular health, noting his history of congestive heart failure, an aortic valve replacement, and an irregular heartbeat, compounded by advanced Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, Hackman likely had not eaten for an extended period.

Despite low levels of carbon monoxide in his system, which were within normal limits, he tested negative for the hantavirus, a disease potentially transmitted by infected rodent droppings. Notably, Hackman’s toxicology results ruled out alcohol and narcotics, revealing only a low concentration of acetone indicative of prolonged fasting.

Hackman reportedly survived his wife, Betsy Arakawa, who likely succumbed to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome a week prior. Authorities are still awaiting Arakawa’s autopsy findings. Investigations into the couple’s deaths included interviews with staff and searches for digital evidence at their home, shedding light on the tragic circumstances surrounding their final days.

The report’s findings have raised more questions about both deaths, as the community mourns the loss of the beloved actor.
