Brooklyn DA’s Office Reports Political Volunteer Vladisljsonav Deshkovich Fatally Stabbed His Mother 10 Times in NYC

A 30-year-old Brooklyn political volunteer is facing charges for the alleged stabbing death of his mother. Prosecutors claim that Vladislav Deshkovich stabbed his 52-year-old mother 10 times, including three times in the face, during an argument. Deshkovich was arrested four hours later and allegedly told the police that he had punched his mother despite the multiple stab wounds. He has been charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The incident occurred in Deshkovich’s mother’s Bay Ridge home, with a neighbor reporting that they had heard the mother screaming and the arguments between the two were a common occurrence. Authorities revealed that Deshkovich had political aspirations and had even volunteered for City Councilman Ari Kagan, and considered running for State Senate. Kagan, however, denied that Deshkovich was heavily involved in his campaign.

During his arraignment, it was requested that Deshkovich be granted bail, however, the judge denied the request citing the seriousness of the allegations. His defense lawyer also requested a psychological evaluation and protective custody for his client, both of which were granted.

Deshkovich’s next court date is scheduled for December 7th. The allegations have shocked and disturbed the Bay Ridge community. The case has highlighted the complications that can arise in cases of domestic violence and has renewed the urgency for public awareness and intervention. The tragic incident marks a somber reality in the ongoing dialogue surrounding mental health and interpersonal relationships.
