Washington, D.C. — Following a recent U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing on the rail industry’s future, a House subcommittee is set to convene on Tuesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. ET. The session, hosted by the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials, will focus on "America Builds: The Role of Innovation and Technology in a Safe and Efficient Rail System."

The hearing will take place in room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office Building and features an esteemed lineup of industry experts. Participants include David Shannon, general manager of the freight car telematics alliance RailPulse; Brigham McCown, founder and board chairman of the Alliance for Innovation and Infrastructure; Eric Gabhardt, chief technology officer at Wabtec, representing the Railway Supply Institute; and Tony Cardwell, president of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

This session comes on the heels of a Senate hearing conducted on June 18 that explored the modernization of the U.S. rail network as lawmakers prepare to tackle a transportation reauthorization bill due in 2026.
