Kenley Jansen Gives Up 3 Homers in 9th, Angels Suffer 7th Consecutive Loss – Daily News

Angels’ Struggles Continue with 9-1 Loss to Tigers

ANAHEIM — The Los Angeles Angels faced a frustrating 9-1 defeat against the Detroit Tigers at Angel Stadium on Friday night, marking their seventh consecutive loss.

Angels reliever Kenley Jansen, who returned from a week off, struggled significantly, yielding six runs on three home runs in just a few pitches. Notably, Jansen allowed back-to-back homers to Riley Greene and Colt Keith, followed by a two-run shot from Javy Baez.

The pitching highlight for the Angels was starter José Soriano, who delivered an impressive six-inning performance, allowing no runs after giving up a solo homer to Zach Neto in the first. However, Soriano’s effort went unrewarded as the offense continued to falter.

The Angels managed only one run against reigning AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, leading to a concerning trend where they averaged just 2.4 runs per game over their last 19 outings.

As the Angels look to turn things around, Jansen emphasized the need for resilience, stating, "We’ve just got to have positive thoughts and stick together. I’m gonna be better.” The team will aim to regroup in their next match and break the losing streak.
