Spring Plant Sale and Auction Set to Bloom at Chadwick Arboretum
Central Ohio’s gardening aficionados are gearing up for the highlight of the planting season—the Chadwick Arboretum’s 38th Annual Spring Plant Sale and Auction Fundraiser, scheduled for May 8-10 on the Ohio State University campus. This highly anticipated event features an extensive selection of more than 16,500 plants, including perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs, and native plants, promising something for every garden enthusiast.
Chadwick Arboretum, a horticultural gem spanning 60 acres and home to over 2,000 ornamental plants, not only offers unique flora but also serves as a community gathering space. The sale is not just about plants; it’s akin to a family reunion, bringing together gardening experts and friends for lively exchanges on trends and tips.
Highlights include live and silent auctions of trees, shrubs, and curated gardening items, as well as a special preview party for members on May 8, offering exclusive discounts. Attendees can also take advantage of expert advice from OSU Extension Master Gardener volunteers and educational presentations on various gardening topics.
Funds raised support student horticultural organizations and operations at the arboretum, nurturing the next generation of environmental leaders. The sale opens to the public from noon to 6 p.m. on May 9 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 10, with free parking available in designated lots. The event promises food trucks, a cashless purchase experience, and restroom facilities.
