LA County Fair Returns with Art Theme and Fun for Everyone
The Los Angeles County Fair opens this Friday, May 2, at the Fairplex in Pomona, offering an art-centric experience paired with traditional fair excitement, from thrilling carnival rides to unique culinary delights and live musical performances.
To navigate the plethora of attractions, visitors can refer to a curated guide. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore The Hill, featuring demonstrations from the U.S. Forestry Service, where they can meet wild burros and interact with reptiles.
For wine aficionados, the fair celebrates the Los Angeles International Wine Competition and the Spirits Competition, offering tastings of award-winning wines, spirits, and olive oils. Guests can enjoy sampling options by the glass or a tasting flight, and new this year, a paint-and-sip class invites creativity alongside refreshments.
Craft lovers should visit The Grandstand, where DIY enthusiasts can view tablescape competitions and culinary masterpieces. Live cooking demonstrations will also be hosted by Chef Leslie Sassaman and others to inspire the home chef.
Art lovers won’t want to miss the “Art Unleashed” theme at the Millard Sheets Art Center, showcasing a variety of artistic expressions. Attendees can try pottery throwing and contribute to a community art project involving a crocheted awning for shade.
Animal lovers can enjoy the Big Red Barn, featuring adorable farm animals that guests can pet while learning about animal care.
The fair runs from May 2 to May 26, operating from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on opening day and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, plus Memorial Day. Admission ranges from $18.50 to $27.50 for adults, with discounts for children and seniors. Parking begins at $22.50, and all payments are cashless for a smooth experience.
