Denis Bouanga’s Dramatic Late Goal Secures Tie for LAFC Against St. Louis – Daily News

LAFC Fights Back for Draw Against St. Louis City in Thrilling Match

LOS ANGELES — Denis Bouanga scored two goals, extending his scoring streak to three games, as the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) rallied to a 2-2 draw against St. Louis City on Sunday at BMO Stadium.

The first half was marked by LAFC’s dominance, yet neither team found the back of the net. St. Louis broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Cedric Teuchert netted their first-ever goal against LAFC with a well-placed shot, capitalizing on a deep cross from Jannes Born.

With head coach Steve Cherundolo suspended, assistant Ante Razov made impactful substitutions, bringing on Nathan Ordaz and Cengiz Ünder. Just two minutes later, Bouanga scored his first of the match, tapping in a cross from Ünder, marking LAFC’s 450th goal—making them the fastest MLS team to reach that milestone.

Despite a missed penalty by Bouanga shortly after, he redeemed himself in stoppage time. After St. Louis took a late lead with an own goal from Ordaz, Bouanga sprinted down the left flank, evaded a defender, and leveled the match in the 95th minute, securing a much-needed point for LAFC.
