Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Southern California Freeway Corridors
SANTA CLARITA, CA – An updated winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service (NWS) warns of significant snowfall and hazardous conditions in key areas, including the 5 Freeway corridor near Santa Clarita and the Highway 14 Corridor. Valid from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., the advisory predicts snow levels between 4,500 and 5,500 feet, with accumulations ranging from 2 to 5 inches below 5,500 feet and 4 to 8 inches above 5,500 feet. Wind gusts are expected to reach between 35 to 45 mph.
Travelers are urged to exercise caution, as slippery roads may lead to treacherous conditions. The NWS recommends checking current road conditions by calling 511 and urges motorists to slow down while driving.
