USC to Houston Pipeline Grows Stronger with Texans’ Latest Draft Picks
In an exciting development for USC fans and the Houston Texans, the team has officially opened a pipeline by selecting their second Trojan in this year’s NFL Draft. Running back Woody Marks was picked as the 14th selection in the fourth round, following teammate Jaylin Smith, a defensive back who was drafted 97th overall in the third round.
Marks, a 5-foot-10, 207-pound redshirt senior, stood out last season as the Trojans’ first 1,000-yard rusher since 2017, accumulating an impressive 1,133 yards and nine touchdowns on 198 carries. His remarkable performance included an average of 87.15 rushing yards per game. Marks also demonstrated versatility by catching 47 passes for 321 yards, ranking second on the team.
In his five collegiate seasons, including four at Mississippi State, Marks has accumulated 3,016 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns on 608 carries, alongside 261 receptions for 1,546 yards. As the seventh Trojan running back drafted since 2010, Marks is set to bring his skills and dedication to Houston’s dynamic roster.
