British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons surprised fans by being added last-minute to the Stagecoach Music Festival lineup, playing on the Palomino Stage before Lana Del Rey. The band’s performance will take place from 6:55 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. with Del Rey following from 8:10 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.
Mumford & Sons, known for their Americana-inspired music, released their fifth album “Rushmere” in March and have announced a summer tour, including a stop at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The band formed in London in 2007 and gained popularity with their 2009 debut album “Sigh No More,” featuring hits like “Little Lion Man” and “The Cave.”
Lead singer Marcus Mumford was actually born in Anaheim, California, in 1987, before moving back to the UK as a baby. The band has previously performed at Coachella, with many of the Stagecoach Friday lineup artists having also played at both festivals. T-Pain, who plays after Lana Del Rey, was at Coachella earlier this month.
