Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers throws 3 scoreless innings in his rehab season opener – Daily News

LOS ANGELES — Clayton Kershaw made a successful return to competitive play after a 7 1/2 month break with Triple-A Oklahoma City. In his first rehab start since offseason surgery, Kershaw pitched three scoreless innings, reaching 89 mph, with two hits, no walks, and two strikeouts. Manager Dave Roberts shared that they are focused on Kershaw’s health and are pleased with his progress.
Kershaw, who is heading into his 18th major-league season, is inching closer to his 2025 debut with the Dodgers. He is set to pitch for Oklahoma City again next week. The Dodgers also saw positive signs from pitchers Evan Phillips and Blake Snell, who are nearing their return to the mound.
Roberts expressed support for his players participating in the upcoming World Baseball Classic and hopes that major league players will be allowed to compete in the 2028 L.A. Olympics. The Dodgers are expected to be well-represented in both events. The team will resume play against the Rangers on Friday after an off day Thursday.
