The Kings have recently signed forward Jared Wright to a two-year, entry-level contract following his success with the University of Denver’s 2024 national title win and return to the Frozen Four. Wright is known for his intense play, skating ability, and effectiveness in pressuring puck-handlers, making him a valuable addition to the Kings’ roster. Standing at 6-foot-2 and nearly 200 pounds, Wright was a late bloomer in the NHL Entry Draft but has since proved himself as a promising player. With this signing, the Kings now have five of their seven selections from the 2022 draft under contract.
As a college prospect, Wright had to wait for the conclusion of his NCAA season before signing. He could potentially join the Ontario Reign, the Kings’ AHL affiliate, in time for the playoffs. The Reign have already seen some notable additions with Carter George recording a shutout in his pro debut and Koehn Ziemmer joining the team. Currently, both the Kings and the Reign are in a close race for second place in the Pacific Division.
