Warradarge Energy Pty Limited has announced a partnership with Fenix Resources Limited to trial dual-fuel hydrogen technology in Western Australia. Fenix’s transport logistics company, Newhaul, and HWR’s technology company, CH2NGE Fuel Technologies, will work together to reduce the carbon footprint of Fenix’s haulage operations in the Mid-West region. HWR Richardson’s proven technology has shown a 40-70% reduction in diesel usage by using a hydrogen and diesel fuel mix. Volvo FH16’s Prime Movers will be fitted with the dual-fuel system for a six-month trial starting in September 2025. Implementation of this technology could reduce diesel consumption by up to 12 million liters annually across fleet operators in the region. Additionally, Fenix’s adoption of the technology would provide a domestic foundation offtake partner for Warradarge Energy’s proposed Green Hydrogen Project. This partnership showcases a commitment to reducing emissions and promoting clean transport solutions. Stay updated on the latest news in the hydrogen market at Hydrogen Central.
