LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is gearing up for the upcoming soccer season with new roster additions aimed at bolstering the team’s performance in various competitions. The team’s general manager, John Thorrington, announced plans to bring in four more players before the start of competitive play on Feb. 18, following the recent signings of Brazilian Igor Jesus and MLS Cup champion Mark Delgado.
While LAFC is unlikely to add a third Designated Player in the winter transfer window, Thorrington hinted at possible additions of Yaw Yeboah and Nkosi Tafari. The team’s focus is on creating a deep and competitive roster capable of handling multiple competitions, including the MLS Cup playoffs, Leagues Cup, and Champions Cup.
Despite facing challenges like forward Cristian Olivera’s absence at training camp, due to undisclosed reasons, and potential outbound transfers like Mateusz Bogusz, Thorrington remains optimistic about the team’s ability to navigate the upcoming season successfully. With a mix of experienced veterans and promising young talent, LAFC is poised for an exciting and competitive season ahead.
